Hong Kong-based Malaysian actress Jacquelin Ch'ng has tied the knot with Hong Kong senior police inspector Matthew Wong in a romantic ceremony in Bali.
The 45-year-old actress confirmed the news by sharing photos from her wedding on Instagram on Thursday (Oct 9).
According to reports, the ceremony took place a day earlier on Wednesday (Oct 8). The couple had been dating for more than one and a half years.
This marks Ch'ng's second marriage. She was previously married to Taiwanese businessman Brian Yang from 2020 to 2022. The couple did not have any children.
Prior to Ch'ng's Instagram post, several entertainment outlets had already reported on the wedding after photos of the couple’s wedding invitation circulated online.
However, on Wednesday, Ch’ng had only shared snippets of her makeup session on Instagram Stories, while her sister Lisa Ch’ng posted a picture from a family gathering without any explanation.
In her latest Instagram post, Jacquelin – daughter of the late Malaysian businessman Datuk Bill Ch’ng Chong Po – shared a series of photos showing her in a white gown alongside her groom, who also wore white.
She wrote in the caption: “Thank you everyone for your blessings. Since my partner is not from the entertainment industry, we’ve decided to keep things low-key. We hope everyone can give us some space. Thank you all!”
Among the guests were several familiar faces from the Hong Kong entertainment scene, including Myolie Wu and her husband, businessman Philip Lee, her sister Lisa and her boyfriend, TVB actor Mat Yeung, as well as actor-host Derek Wong and singer-actress Jinny Ng.
The Straits Times added that Wong, who served as the wedding emcee, posted a photo with Ch’ng on social media, writing: “My eyes welled up when this fairy-tale princess walked down the aisle.”
He also praised the groom, adding: “He is truly one of a kind – an incredibly thoughtful, sweet and caring guy.”
