Local rock band Barbarik is gearing up for its debut concert to celebrate the release of its first album, Peluru Cokelat, which was launched on Nov 9 last year.

The band’s guitarist, JoBranko, said the concert, titled Barbarik Pentas Peluru Cokelat, is scheduled to take place at 8.30pm on June 28 at Zepp Kuala Lumpur, featuring live performances of songs from the album for the first time.

"Our goal in producing Peluru Cokelat was to show that we’re serious as a band-not just a project group or riding on our past legacy.

"With new material, we’re able to move forward and strategise more effectively to remain on the radar of the local mainstream music scene. If fans listen to Peluru Cokelat, they’ll understand that this is Barbarik’s true identity,” he said in a statement recently.

In addition to JoBranko, Barbarik consists of Muss (vocals), Rozaimi (bass), and Ainol (drums). The band has previously performed in several shows, including Barbarik Pentas Keras 1.0 and 3.0, as well as Double Trouble 2: Search x Barbarik.

The two-hour concert, organised by Karri Talk Production in collaboration with Pentas Barbarik, will feature around 20 songs-both old and new-and promises a high-energy, adrenaline-pumping experience for the audience. – Bernama
