Hong Kong actress Tracy Ip rose to fame in 2005 after emerging as the winner of the Miss Hong Kong beauty pageant.

Shortly after her victory, she signed a contract with TVB and appeared in several popular dramas such as Heart Of Greed (2007), Love Exchange (2008), Beyond The Realm Of Conscience (2009) and more.

Ip, 43, parted ways with TVB when her contract ended in 2017 and has since reinvented herself as a successful beauty influencer and live streamer.

According to Hong Kong media, her monthly income reportedly climbed to as high as seven figures during the peak of her online career.

In a recent interview with media personality Wong Man Ling, Ip expressed pride at how far she has come financially, adding that her life has improved significantly since she became an influencer.

However, her journey hasn’t been without setbacks – the mother of three, who’s married to architect Raymond Chow, suffered a huge financial loss two years ago after “trusting the wrong person”.

“I remember laying on the bed on the first night of moving into my new home and was struck at how the mattress was bigger than the entire place I used to live in 20 years ago,” she joked.

The 4 In Love (2012) actress went on to describe her early living conditions, recalling a cramped “subdivided flat” that barely passed as a proper home.

She credited her success in the live streaming world to a mix of timing, opportunity and relentless hard work.

“It’s taken me 20 years to get here – no part of my life was wasted,” she added.

In a sweet anecdote, Ip also revealed that her husband once teased her about having an imbalance between income and expenses.

“Most people would think he meant I was overspending, but he meant I was being too frugal,” she said, laughing.
