Nur Fazura's singing has sparked heated discussions on social media, not only among netizens but also fellow celebrities.

Actor and musician Rashidi Ishak, 51, weighed in on the matter, sharing his thoughts on Threads.

“Her manager needs to tell her to get a vocal coach. She's tone-deaf," Rashidi shared in a post on Wednesday (Nov 6).

“The ballad (genre) is not easy to sing, especially with the nuances of Malay music.”

Fazura, 41, showcased her singing talent on a live talk show in Jakarta, Indonesia, marking her first public appearance since her divorce from actor Fattah Amin on Oct 7.

On the programme, she promoted her new single Bertahan Demi Cinta, a duet with Fattah recorded before their split, now performed solo.

Her attempt received mixed reactions, with some advising her to reconsider her singing career.

Continuing his post a little later, Rashidi took on a more encouraging tone.

He clarified that Fazura needs to get a vocal coach as singing is a skill that can be honed over time with practice.

“Singing can be learned,” wrote Rashidi.

“Great singing takes time and practice. Ask any singer.

“Jaclyn Victor said when she was younger, she practised singing 8 hours a day or something like that. So I'm sure Fazura can (do it as well).

“Whether she's willing or not, that's up to her.”
