Hong Kong actress Lily Li has passed away. She was 74.

The news was announced by veteran media personality Wong Man Ling yesterday (Oct 28).

In a Weibo post, Wong revealed that Li died of lung cancer on Oct 27.

The former TVB star was reportedly diagnosed with the illness a few years ago, though it was only recently that the cancer began to spread.

It’s said that Li was hospitalised last month to receive treatment but ultimately succumbed to her illness.

Li embarked on her remarkable showbiz journey, which spanned nearly six decades, after joining the Shaw Brothers’ training programme at 11 years old.

It’s reported that she falsified her age to get in.

The actress joined TVB in 1988 and remained with the broadcaster until her retirement in 2020, concluding a 32-year career with the company.

Among Li's notable projects include The Wandering Swordsman, Executioners From Shaolin, Beyond The Realm Of Conscience, Demi-Gods And Semi-Devils and more.

Her last TV appearance was as Grandma Tao in the drama Forensic Heroes IV.
