Hong Kong actor Kenneth Ma recently revealed that he misplaced his wedding ring while working abroad in the United States.
In an interview with Chinese media, the 52-year-old admitted that he was left panicking after realising the band was missing, with his biggest worry being how his wife, actress Roxanne Tong, would react to the news.
“I really thought I would be in big trouble,” he said, laughing.
However, when Ma eventually broke the news to Tong – whom he married in 2023 – her reaction was far calmer than he had expected.
The TVB star recalled: “She immediately said, ‘OK, we can just buy a new pair.’”
Ma said Tong, 39, is simply someone with an optimistic outlook.
Rather than viewing the mishap as a sign that their marriage was being taken lightly, she saw it as an opportunity for them to get a new pair of wedding rings.
Ma also added that he tends to imagine the worst-case scenario whenever something goes wrong, as it helps him mentally prepare for the situation.
However, he said Tong has helped him learn that certain problems may not be as serious as they initially seem.
“What I initially thought was a big deal turned out not to be such a big deal after all,” he said.
