The Poetics Collective brings 'Brahms and the Schumanns' to life in special showcase in PJ

Fans of classical music are in for a treat with The Poetics Collective’s upcoming Brahms And The Schumanns showcase which will be held on Aug 24, 8pm at KS Strings, Petaling Jaya.

This show, the group's third in 2024, will feature piano, violin and vocal works by Johannes Brahms, Clara, and Robert Schumann, chosen for their prominence in the German Romantic era and their intertwined lives.

The Poetics Collective's mission is to promote the art song genre by making the fusion of poetry and music more accessible to the audience.

“Our goal is to present these pieces in a relatable and approachable manner. We want everyone to feel the passion and beauty in these pieces," artistic director Scott Woo said in a press statement.

Apart from Woo, The Poetics Collective comprises Sharlene Rani, Chew Shi Yun, Asha Menon, Serene Chng, William Kow, Eben Ting (guest violinist), Darrel Chan, and Iau Jo Yee.

Early bird tickets, priced between RM48 and RM68, are available now till Aug 3. Regular tickets are priced from RM68 to RM88 and available via thepoeticscollective@gmail.com and Versespj.com.
