Hong Kong singer Joey Wong has called it quits with her boyfriend of six years Tarzan Ip.

In an Instagram update on May 21, Wong – also known as JW – shared a compilation video of herself enjoying some delicious meals, travelling and hanging out with friends.

Her post was accompanied by a caption that read: "Almost forgot how it's like to be single after 13 years of being in a relationship ... in my happy girl era."

The 33-year-old added: "Life is great, I'll be okay."

It is speculated that the "13 years" mentioned might allude to Wong's cumulative dating experience.

However, the singer declined to comment much when approached by Hong Kong media.

Ip's family were declared bankrupt last February after failing to repay bank debts, which reportedly exceeded millions.

At the time, Wong had released the song Accompany You, which seemingly highlighted her commitment to stand by Ip despite the unfortunate circumstance.

It is understood that Ip and Wong led an opulent lifestyle before the former declared bankruptcy.

According to reports, Wong used to face accusations of dating Ip for his money – a claim she firmly rubbished and found to be "frustrating".

"Since graduating from university, I have worked tirelessly, and I mean tirelessly!

"I have never asked anyone for money, not even my family. I have always relied on myself!

"But as soon as there’s a label attached, people forget about my efforts," she said, as quoted by Dimsum Daily.
