Hong Kong actor Louis Koo is in Malaysia to shoot his new movie, Behind The Shadows.

Filming is expected to conclude mid-October, with most of the scenes taking place around Kuala Lumpur.

At a recent press conference to promote the film, Koo, 52, said that he was surprised by the traffic congestion here.

"The traffic in Malaysia is super heavy during peak hours. It's a good thing though because it gives me the opportunity to rest in the car. I could nap three times and still not arrive at my destination," he said.

The G Storm (2021) actor also joked that he could exit his vehicle, enjoy a bowl of wantan noodles, return to his car and would still be stuck in the same place.

"It's only during rush hours. My crew and I usually take over an hour to arrive at the filming site during busy hours.

"When we return at night after work though, it will only take about 10 minutes," he said.

Koo also shared that there are many things he loves about Malaysia.

Among them are the delectable range of cuisines, the people and the traditional buildings that are seldom seen in Hong Kong.

"I was in Malaysia for a few days previously and discovered many old buildings suitable as filming spots. It's difficult to find these types of buildings in Hong Kong.

"There's no language barrier (for me) here as well," he added.

Behind The Shadows is a joint production between Koo's company, One Cool Film, and local film production agency Filmforce Studio.

During the press interview, Koo praised the Malaysian production team said that their professionalism was one of the reasons why he wanted to film here.

"They take their job seriously and work quickly and efficiently. They are competent too," he said.

Behind The Shadows also stars Taiwanese actor Liu Kuan Ting, Hong Kong actress Chrissie Chau and Malaysian actress Yumi Wong.
