Hong Kong artiste Daniel Chan revealed in a recent TVB show that he almost became blind after using his mobile phone in the dark for an extended period of time.

Chan, 47, explained that this incident happened five years ago while he was filming in Hengdian, China.

“When I got up after playing with my phone, I suddenly felt dizzy. My vision became blurry, and I ran straight to the toilet and vomitted,” he recounted.

Realising the severity of his condition, he quickly went to see a doctor who found that his eye pressure had gotten too high.

Chan received a steroid injection in both eyes. He recalled his whole body becoming tense and stiff when the needle was injected into his second eye.

"If my hands weren't restrained during the procedure, I would've accidentally hit the doctor," he said.

Despite the terrifying experience, Chan was grateful he sought immediate treatment. He explained that he would've fully lost his vision if he had delayed going to the doctor.
