The Malaysian Association of Film Exhibitors (MAFE) released a statement seeking clarification on entertainment tax exemption situation in Selangor that has excluded them

In the statement, cinema operators are questioning why they are still paying the full 25% Entertainment Duty when the rate is reduced for theme parks (from 25% to 5%) as well as arts-related activities (from 25% to 15%).
