Hwan Chan-sung, better known as Chansung of the K-pop group 2PM, announced that he is getting married to his non-celebrity girlfriend early next year.
He shared this news on his Instagram via a handwritten letter.
The 31-year-old also informed that his partner is in the early stages of pregnancy.
Korean media translated the letter which begins with him saying that he has been in the entertainment industry since he was 17 years old and in that 15 years he has created many “valuable memories”.
He then went on: “There is someone I have been in a relationship with for a long time. She has been the resting place for my unstable heart and a friend whom I can share anything with. She became my girlfriend.
“While preparing and planning marriage with this person after my military discharge, we were blessed with a new life that came to us earlier than expected.
“We are planning to get married as early as the beginning of next year.”
On the career front, the youngest member of 2PM mentioned that he will be leaving the agency JYP Entertainment after his contract with it ends come January.
Stating that this decision was mutual, he noted that he has not fully decided on what comes next where his career is concerned.
“But I will share plans that won’t cause concern to fans.”
As a member of 2PM, he contributes to the group as singer, songwriter and rapper. He made his debut as an actor first before taking part in Mnet’s Hot Blood Men which resulted in the formation of the groups 2AM and 2PM.
The six-member group released its seventh studio album Must in June 2021, its first after four years of hiatus.
Chansung’s recent appearance in K-drama was as a regular in the series So I Married The Anti-Fan.
