WVC Malaysian Jazz Ensemble celebrates 20th anniversary with special show on July 23

WVC Malaysian Jazz Ensemble is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special show at the newly opened D Theatre @ Hextar World in Petaling Jaya, Selangor on July 23.

Comprising pianist and composer Tay Cher Siang, bassist AJ and drummer Adriel Wong, WVC has made a name for itself in the jazz scene by incorporating local and Asian influences into its repertoire.

Since its inception, it has released eight instrumental albums and was also featured in the Hollywood film Crazy Rich Asians.

In this concert, which starts at 8pm, the group will showcase a songlist that revisits fan favourites while premiering new arrangements.

The trio will be joined by saxophonists Farid Izwan and Julian Chan; singers Janet Lee, Junji Delfino and Izen Kong; and narrator Lim Soon Heng.
