South Korean actor Park Hae-soo became a father on Wednesday (Sept 29).
His wife gave birth to a baby boy, and both the mother and son are doing well, reports a Korean news portal.
Park tied the knot with his non-celebrity wife in 2019. The two were reportedly dating for a year before getting married.
Work-wise, the actor can currently be seen in the hit Netflix drama Squid Game, which became the first Korean drama to top the global Netflix TV show ranking – it was No. 1 in the United States and maintained a top three ranking in 83 countries around the world.
In a recent press conference, the Prison Playbook leading man mentioned that during filming, he felt a bit down whenever an actor had to leave the set after their characters get eliminated.
“Every actor poured their hearts into their roles, so when it was their turn to leave the shoot and the set became emptier and emptier, I also felt a little empty,” shared the actor who will turn 40 this year.
“Because we were all wearing the same outfit with no hierarchy, there was a sense of belonging on the set.”
Squid Game centres on a survival game among 456 contestants who want to win the cash prize of 45.6 billion won (RM161mil) desperately. And 456 people were actually cast to play the participants.
Park also shared what he would do if he were to receive that large amount of money in real-life.
“Twenty percent is going to go into the ALS fund; 20% goes into stocks. And then I'm going to give maybe about 100mil won to everyone here (at the press conference). And the rest I'll use to protect the environment.”
The next drama Park will be starring in is the South Korean adaptation of the popular Spanish series Money Heist; he'll be playing the character Berlin.
