UPDATE (August 12): Shortly after this story was published, it was reported that Farah Sheila Mazlan was still alive, albeit in critical condition, at the writing of this article. A day after comedian Shuib Sepahtu lost his wife – singer Siti Sarah – to Covid-19, actor Badrol Shah faces the same situation as his wife passed away due to Covid-19 Delta variant.

Farah Sheila Mazlan, 37, was announced dead at 1pm on Tuesday (Aug 10), eight days after she was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) at Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

“She got the Covid-19 Delta variant virus on July 20,” informed Badrol to mStar, The Star’s Malay portal.

“She was at the Titiwangsa assessment centre at first but had to be transferred to the HKL ICU when her condition worsened.”

Badrol explained that his wife – who’s a teacher at an Islamic school in Kuala Lumpur – got the virus at their housing area, when she went to make a payment to a fellow resident.

“After that the whole family tested positive for Covid-19.

“However, her condition was the only one that was critical, leading to her death,” added Badrol.

He got married to Farah in 2017, resulting in the birth of daughter Putri Da’aiyatul Insyirah, who is now two years old.

They also have three other daughters from Farah’s first marriage – Putri Farah Nordina Dania, 12, Putri Farah Nordina Zawana, 11 and Putri Farah Norhaziqah, seven.

“I have to be strong for the sake of my children,” shared Badrol, who has appeared in films Busut Bonang and Pemburu Emas Yamashita.

“Currently there is no acting jobs, so I am working as a Grab driver.

“Even if I get RM20 to RM30 a day, I am thankful as it would be enough for me to buy milk for the children.”
