Malaysian rocker Datuk Awie is now a father of six.

The 52-year-old Wings frontman announced on Facebook that his wife Datin Sharifah Ladyana Syed Samsuddin, 33, has given birth on Jan 18.

"All praise to God, You fulfilled my wish. At 6pm today (Jan 18), we finally met after waiting for nine months. I'm thankful that you both are healthy.

"I'm overjoyed by your arrival. You've added so much colour to our home. Oh thank You God! I am touched!"

Awie did not offer further details on the baby's gender or name.

The Hantu Kak Limah actor told Kosmo in a previous interview he is working on keeping himself youthful and energetic in order to care for his newest addition:

"When I send my child to school later, I don't want people to think that I'm the grandfather instead. So I have to watch what I eat and exercise to maintain my stamina.

"At my age, I have to take a lot of things into account. My wife is young. It's important to take care of my health because if I get seriously ill, I will burden her."

Awie has five other children from his two previous marriages. He tied the knot with Sharifah on Oct 2016.
