Meet Emily Gan. She’s a feisty nyonya woman, who's played many roles in her colorful life, including society hostess, interfering matriarch, possessive wife and loving mother. As the protagonist of the classic Singaporean play Emily Of Emerald Hill, she’s one of the most complex and iconic characters in regional theatre.

Emily Of Emerald Hill, since its first appearance in late 1984, has become an icon of English-language theatre in Singapore and Malaysia.
