Recently, we had a chance to try ORA Dining in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. The word ora means “now” in Italian. This modern European eatery features a fresh take on familiar local fare, with some palate adaptations in terms of ingredients, taste and cultural approach.
The menu is curated by head chef Tan Xing Yu, who has years of experience under his belt working with well-known restaurants in Malaysia and the United States.

Pan-Seared Lasagne was a little peculiar for us as they seared the lagsagne and as a result, we had a somewhat roasted beef chuck ragu that was generously topped with grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. This was paired with shishito pepper bechamel that had a mild peppery taste. — Photos: BEN HOR
Alla Chitarra Spaghetti Truffle Butter – the savoury depth and umami of this rendition was surreal, topped with generous slices of shaved black truffle and lots of wild shiitake mushroom.
Black Forest Tiramisu, which we found to be more than decent, decadent with strong Coffee Liquor, Whiskey Cherry and Valrhona Chocolate sauce.
