Hotel chain’s Flavours of Malaysia campaign showcases authentic dishes from across country
MALAYSIA’S regional flavours are being showcased across a hotel chain’s restaurants across the country until the end of September.
Doubletree by Hilton Malaysia’s campaign is offering diners the opportunity to experience the country’s diverse gastronomic experience under one roof.
Hilton Malaysia regional general manager Linda Pecoraro said food had always been at the heart of those connections.
“Flavours of Malaysia celebrates not only the incredible diversity of Malaysian cuisine, but also the stories and traditions behind every dish.

“By bringing regional flavours from across the country into our Makan Kitchen restaurants, we hope to inspire guests to discover, reconnect with and take pride in the rich culinary heritage that makes Malaysia so unique,” she said at the launch Doubletree by Hilton Kuala Lumpur.
The respective restaurants invite diners to embark on a culinary journey through authentic recipes, local traditions and signature dishes that celebrate the rich diversity of Malaysia’s food heritage.
Seafood lovers can try out Sarawak’s rich culinary heritage through dishes such as Tempra Prawns with Bean Curd Chap Chye and Sea Grapes, that pairs the succulent prawns with crisp vegetables.

Another standout is the Kerabu Chicken with Buah Keluak Puree, Compressed Watermelon Skin and Sarawak Pepper, which is a contemporary interpretation that combines bold flavours, offering diners a memorable taste of Sarawak.
Guests who want to savour Penang’s signature dishes can enjoy Penang Char Kway Teow with Duck Egg and desserts such as Nyonya Durian Bubur Cha-Cha that is served in delicate white chocolate cups.
The bold flavours of Negri Sembilan are featured in dishes such as Lompap Lamb Short Ribs and the traditional delicacy, Kuih Sopang.

Kedah’s signature dishes are also featured, including Gulai Daging Rias Pisang and Kerabu Pucuk Paku with Cockle Meat and Bean Sprouts. The crunchy salad, especially, has a real spicy kick.
Perak’s Ayam Masak Tuha and Paisan Iwak Jenahak offer guests a taste of the state’s rich culinary traditions, while free-range Ayam Kapitan and the classic dessert, Onde Onde with Inang Inang (rice crackers), are some of the popular dishes from Melaka that diners can try.
Kuala Lumpur’s Chinese culinary heritage is celebrated with Imperial Lotus Braised Duck Encased in Clay and Thin Rice Noodle with Tea Smoked Sustainable Seabass and Signature Sweet Sesame Sauce.
The participating DoubleTree by Hilton hotels are those in Shah Alam i-City, Kuala Lumpur, Johor Baru, Putrajaya Lakeside, Penang, Damai Laut Resort and Melaka.
The campaign, which is available for high tea or dinner (depending on individual hotels), ends on Sept 30.
