New flavours in wellness elixir beverage series

Oh Cha Matcha’s Wellness Elixir series is infused with adaptogens.

OH Cha Matcha has added two new flavours to its Wellness Elixir beverage series.

The range was developed based on the understanding that effective stress management is an integral part of a healthy lifestyle.

The Wellness Elixir series features six flavourful beverages powered by six adaptogens, such as cordyceps and shiitake mushrooms.

The series complements the brand’s line-up of artisanal beverages made using the finest matcha from Uji in Kyoto, Japan.

“Adaptogens are essentially all-natural substances easily found in our daily diet, such as herbs and mushrooms, that help our bodies adapt to stress,” said Oh Cha Matcha co-founder Choong Kar Heng.

“We experience stress from various aspects of our lives through external and internal stressors, such as physical fatigue or mental state like anxiety and depression.

“Being unable to fall asleep or working long hours are also some form of stressors to our body.

“Adaptogens help the body to function and perform at optimal levels and restore it to a balanced state by helping it to maintain focus, stabilise mood and decrease stress.

“In short, adaptogens increase the body’s tolerance to stress to prevent it from reaching a stage of exhaustion in a state of hormonally driven stress overdrive.”

Choong said different adaptogens had specific effects, such as cordyceps to boost strength and stamina, chaga mushrooms for their antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties and lion’s mane mushrooms for those looking to improve memory, concentration and mental clarity.

The original flavours in the Wellness Elixir series — Bentong Ginger Turmeric Matcha with Chaga, Strawberry Matcha with Lion’s Mane, Rose Matcha with Shiitake and Matcha Latte with Cordyceps — are popular.

To cater to more matcha lovers, two flavours were newly introduced — Cocoa Matcha with Reishi and Lavender Matcha with Ashwagandha.

The Wellness Elixir series is only available at Oh Cha Matcha’s Taman Tun Dr Ismail store in Kuala Lumpur.

Prices range from RM23 to RM28 per cup.
