KUALA LUMPUR: S P Setia Bhd, through its subsidiary Perumahan Kinrara Bhd (PKB), has signed development and lease agreements with HELP Kinrara Sdn Bhd to establish a new international school in Bandar Kinrara, Selangor.

In a statement, S P Setia said it would develop and construct the purpose-built campus, while HELP would lease and operate the school, which is targeted to open in August 2029.

The school will be built on a 2.01-acre site within a 16-acre commercial land parcel earmarked for a transit-oriented development in Bandar Kinrara.

The proposed six-storey campus will have a gross floor area of approximately 176,085 sq ft and capacity for more than 1,000 students.

Under the agreements, PKB will undertake the construction of the school, while HELP will secure the necessary education approvals and complete the campus fit-out.

HELP will lease the completed school complex for an initial term of 15 years, with an option to renew for a further five years.

The school, which will be HELP Group's fourth campus, is expected to offer British Curriculum-based primary and secondary education for students aged five to 16, leading to Cambridge IGCSE qualifications.

Planned facilities include 55 classrooms, six science laboratories, an engineering and design workshop, a library and a multipurpose hall.

S P Setia president and chief executive officer Datuk Zaini Yusoff said the development forms part of the group's strategy to integrate education and other community facilities into its townships.

“Setia's collaboration with HELP reflects this approach to innovation: bringing complementary expertise into our townships to create places that offer more than a home. By integrating education into the wider vision for Bandar Kinrara, we aim to enhance everyday living for existing homeowners and give prospective buyers greater confidence in the community they choose to be part of.

“For us, responsible development means combining thoughtful planning, quality and innovation with disciplined delivery and credible partnerships. This is how we seek to earn the trust of today’s homeowners and tomorrow’s buyers, while shaping connected, inclusive townships where people can live, learn and grow,” Zaini added.

HELP Group co-chief executive officer (K-12) Dr Gerard Louis said the new campus would expand access to international education for families in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong, Bukit Jalil and surrounding areas.

The final campus design and development remain subject to the relevant approvals.
