Theta Edge secures RM33mil computer supply contract

KUALA LUMPUR: Theta Edge Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, Theta Technologies Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM33.01mil contract from Aceteam Networks Sdn Bhd for the procurement and supply of personal computers.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Theta Edge said its subsidiary had received and accepted a letter of award on Nov 3, appointing it as the exclusive supplier of laptops and desktops under the Device as a Service (DaaS) Lifecycle Management Project.

The contract, valued at RM33.01mil excluding applicable taxes, involves a maximum purchase commitment of 5,742 laptops and desktops.

Under the agreement, Theta Technologies will procure and supply new computer hardware through manufacturers' authorised local distribution channels, based on the specifications, quantities and delivery requirements set out in the respective purchase orders.

The contract will commence on the first delivery date and remain in force for 60 months from the successful completion of the user acceptance test, unless terminated earlier.

Theta Edge said the contract is expected to contribute positively to the group's earnings over the next five financial years, beginning with the financial year ending Dec 31, 2027.

The contract will be financed through internally generated funds and/or borrowings.

The company said the appointment would enable Theta Technologies to expand its computer hardware procurement and supply business.
