Alpha IVF expands in Philippines, posts record quarterly revenue of RM52.9mil

PETALING JAYA: Alpha IVF Group Bhd has opened its second full-fledged in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) centre in the Philippines, investing RM11.7mil to expand its presence in Northern Luzon.

The new centre in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, is the region's first full-fledged IVF facility, serving a population of about 23.2 million.

In a statement, the group said the facility can perform up to 500 oocyte pick-up procedures annually, offering IVF treatment, fertility preservation, genetic testing and other reproductive services.

The centre will also reduce the need for patients to travel up to 10 hours by road to Manila for fertility treatment.

Group managing director Datuk Dr Colin Lee Soon Soo said the expansion was part of Alpha IVF's strategy to establish a regional IVF network across Southeast Asia.

He said the Tuguegarao centre would strengthen its presence in the Philippines, building on the progress of its Manila operations.

The opening follows the commencement of operations at its Jakarta centre earlier this month, bringing Alpha IVF's network to eight full-fledged centres across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Separately, shareholders approved the group's proposed transfer from Bursa Malaysia's ACE Market to the Main Market at an extraordinary general meeting.

Meanwhile, Alpha IVF posted record quarterly revenue of RM52.88mil for the first quarter ended Aug 31, 2026 (1QFY27), up 1.5% from RM52.1mil a year earlier, driven by higher local patient revenue and stronger overseas contributions.

However, net profit eased marginally to RM15.12mil from RM15.28mil previously.

Malaysia remained its largest revenue contributor at RM45.7mil, although this was lower than RM47.9mil a year earlier.

Local patient revenue rose 12.1% to RM16.8mil, partially offsetting a 12.3% decline in foreign patient revenue to RM28.9mil.

Overseas, Singapore's revenue increased 29.5% to RM5.1mil, while Indonesia's contribution rose to RM700,000 from RM200,000. The Philippines contributed RM1.4mil.

Lee said the group would focus on increasing patient volumes at existing centres and expanding its overseas business, including attracting patients from the Middle East and Indochina.

Alpha IVF declared a first interim dividend of 0.25 sen per share, amounting to RM12.1mil, payable on Jan 6, 2027.
