Atlan slips into the red in 2Q26

PETALING JAYA: Atlan Holdings Bhd slipped into the red in its second quarter ended Aug 31, 2026 (2Q26), after reporting a net loss of RM601,000 compared with a net profit of RM4.07mil a year earlier.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the drop in the results was mainly due to lower gross profit margins earned, coupled with higher operating expenses incurred during the quarter.

Revenue in 2Q26 dropped to RM85.22mil from RM112.82mil in the previous corresponding period.

The company declared a second interim single-tier dividend of 5.0 sen per ordinary share, to be paid on Nov 25.

For the six-month period ended Aug 31, 2026, Atlan reported a net loss of RM489,000 compared with a net profit of RM7.13mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue declined to RM158.27mil from RM212.23mil a year earlier.

Going forward, the group anticipates the business environment in which it operates to remain challenging throughout the financial year 2027.

“This is largely due to elevated global inflation, which continues to drive higher product, labour and operating costs while dampening consumer and household spending amid persistent cost-of-living pressures and increasingly cautious consumer spending behaviour in an uncertain economic environment.”
