PETALING JAYA: Citaglobal Bhd’s indirect subsidiary bagged an engineering and equipment supply contract worth approximately RM29mil for the Siam Power Naklang waste-to-energy (WTE) project in Thailand.

The award, which was won by LAWI Engineering GmbH, is part of a RM52.1mil contract to a consortium comprising LAWI Germany and its consortium partner to build the project’s steam boiler plant and basic engineering for the technology component of the overall WTE power plant.

LAWI is a 55%-owned entity of Citaglobal Environment Management Sdn Bhd (CGEM), which in turn is a 56.14%-owned subsidiary of Citaglobal.

The plant, located in Nakhon Ratchasima Province, is designed to process up to 500 tonnes of municipal solid waste per day and generate approximately 9.9 megawatt of electricity. The boiler island is scheduled to begin commercial operations within 13 months of the effective date of the letter of award.
