UWC 4Q profit reaches a record high

PETALING JAYA: UWC Bhd remains cautiously optimistic about its business outlook, supported by the continued strength of the semiconductor industry, increasing demand from both front-end and back-end semiconductor customers, and the progressive ramp-up of recently secured projects and new product introductions.

For the fourth quarter ended July 31, 2026 (4Q26), the precision engineering company’s net profit surged by nearly 130% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM37.60mil or earnings per share of 3.41 sen. This was underpinned by higher revenue, a more favourable product mix with increased contributions from higher-value products and better absorption of operating costs arising from increased business volume.

Revenue for 4Q26 soared by 71% y-o-y, supported by stronger semiconductor demand, the progressive execution of secured frontend semiconductor projects and increased demand for back-end semiconductor equipment.

The group said the improved performance also reflected its strategic expansion into higher-precision, mission-critical and value-added contract manufacturing, extending its scope from individual component manufacturing to the delivery of more complex modules, sub-systems and integrated assemblies.

For the financial year ended July 31, 2026 (FY26), UWC’s net profit increased by 132% y-o-y to RM93.84mil or earnings per share of 8.51 sen. Revenue expanded by 54% y-o-y to RM594.89mil.
