KUALA LUMPUR: Unique Fire Holdings Bhd
reported a lower net profit in the first quarter of its financial year ended June 30, 2026, reflecting its ongoing investment in future growth projects.
Executive director Marcus Liew said the results reflect a strategic choice as it carried the cost of new investments. "What matters to us is that the core fire protection business is stable, our distribution and manufacturing segments are growing, and the business continues to be profitable while we build.
'We are investing in growth today, to build the capacity needed for future growth," he said in the group's announcement of its latest results.
During the quarter, the fire protection systems manufacturer recorded revenue of RM29.48mil, down from RM30.05mil in the previous year, with the distribution and manufacturing segments growing 14.8% and 22.2% respectively against softer order intake in assembly.
Moving forward, the group expects domestic demand in its core fire safety business to be supported by active enforcement of the Fire Services (Amendment) Act 2025, including the rollout of the Certified Person for Fire Safety Installation ("CPFSI") certification programme, which mandates the registration of fire safety contractors and equipment providers.
The group is also progressing several growth initiatives, including an acquisition of land in Kota Kemuning and a joint venture to distribute emergency lighting and signage solutions.
Its large-scale solar photovoltaic plant under the LSS5 Project remains on track to commence in the fourth quarter of 2027 and is expected to contribute recurring income once operational.
