Midtown Group secures RM73.34mil variation order

PETALING JAYA: Midtown Group Bhd’s subsidiary, Midtown Engineering Sdn Bhd (MESB), has secured an RM73.34mil variation order (VO) from a US-based multinational technology corporation.

The group noted the original contract sum of the project was revised upwards from RM63.6mil, following MESB’s acceptance of the VO.

Under the VO, MESB will undertake the construction and completion of a data centre located in the State of Johor, according to the group.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the construction company stated the VO will run from Aug 19, 2026 to Jan 30, 2027.

The VO is expected to boost revenue and earnings upon completion, with no material impact on its balance sheet, it noted.

“The board, having considered the rationale, prospects and all other relevant aspects of the VO, is of the opinion that the VO is in the best interest of the company,” Midtown said in its statement.
