Alam Maritim group CEO Azmi Ahmad released from MACC remand


KUALA LUMPUR: Alam Maritim Resources Bhd group managing director and group chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Azmi Ahmad has been released from remand by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today.

The offshore oil-and-gas services firm stated in a Bursa Malaysia filing that Azmi will immediately resume all executive roles and leadership responsibilities within the company.

"The board reiterates that the day-to-day business operations, financial position, and strategic governance of the company remain entirely stable and unaffected,” it said.

Azmi was remanded to assist with a MACC investigation, and this remand is solely for investigation purposes and does not imply any finding of wrongdoing, said the company on Aug 17. - Bernama
