Pekat Group bags RM47mil DC contracts

Pekat said the contracts are expected to contribute positively to its earnings for the current financial year.

KUALA LUMPUR: Pekat Group Bhd has secured two contracts with a total value of RM46.94mil for the supply and installation of earthing and lightning protection systems at data centre (DC) developments in Negri Sembilan and Johor.

In a statement yesterday, the group said the first contract, valued at RM19.73mil, is for a hyperscale DC in Port Dickson and is scheduled for completion by June 30, 2027.

The second contract, worth RM27.21mil, is for the supply and installation of earthing and lightning protection systems at a DC in Johor, Pekat said.

It added that the project is expected to be completed by Sept 19, 2027, according to Bernama.

“The latest contract wins strengthen Pekat’s presence in Malaysia’s expanding DC sector, in which the demand for specialised electrical infrastructure continues to grow alongside investments in digital infrastructure and cloud computing facilities,” the group added.

Pekat said these contracts are expected to contribute positively to its earnings for the current financial year, subject to the progress of works and normal project execution risks.

“Pekat has been actively expanding its presence in the DC supply chain, leveraging its expertise in power protection and power generation to capture opportunities arising from the rapid growth of DCs in the region.”

Furthermore, the group pointed out that it remains focused on securing further contracts within this space as demand for robust, reliable DC infrastructure continues to rise.
