Jati Tinggi JV secures RM27.5mil TNB dam enhancement contract


KUALA LUMPUR: Jati Tinggi Group Bhd's wholly owned subsidiary, Jati Tinggi Holding Sdn Bhd, has secured a RM27.5mil contract from TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn Bhd (TRMSB) through a joint venture with MFB Geotech Sdn Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said the unincorporated joint venture received a letter of acceptance to undertake dam safety enhancement works under Package 1 of the Life Extension Programme for the Sungai Perak Hydroelectric Stations.

The Contract involves remedial works on the spillway, slopes, and saddle dams at four dam locations in Perak under the Life Extension Programme for the Sungai Perak Hydroelectric Stations.

The scope of works is aimed at enhancing the structural integrity, operational reliability, and long-term sustainability of the hydroelectric facilities, it said.

The contract is effective from July 2, 2026, with completion expected within 407 days from the commencement date, which will be determined later.

Under the joint venture arrangement, Jati Tinggi Holding will undertake 90% of the project, while MFB Geotech will be responsible for the remaining 10%.

“The award of this contract further demonstrates JTGB’s engineering capabilities in undertaking critical infrastructure rehabilitation projects and reinforces the JTGB's commitment to delivering high-quality engineering solutions while supporting the continued reliability of Malaysia's power generation infrastructure,” it said.

Jati Tinggi said the contract is expected to contribute positively to its future earnings, earnings per share and net assets over the contract period.
