EG Industries unit bags RM949mil order for optical modules, wireless access products


KUALA LUMPUR: EG Industries Bhd said its wholly-owned subsidiary SMT Technologies Sdn Bhd has secured an order for US$241.6mil (RM949.18mil) of high-speed 800G optical modules and wireless access-related products from an existing customer.

The group said in a stock exchange filing, the customer, which was unnamed, is a gobal technology leader with expertise in industry leading research and development and cutting-edge manufacturing for, among others, high-speed optical modules, wireless access broadband, carrier ethernet and edge computing.

The purchase order, which is expected to be fulfilled in tranchers over 12 months, is anticipated to contribute positively to EG Industries' earnings and net assets, on consolidated basis for the financial year ending June 30, 2026/2027.
