Country Heights to take over Mines Beach Resort after agreement termination

KUALA LUMPUR: Country Heights Holdings Bhd said it will assume direct management of Mines Beach Resort following the early termination of a management agreement by a third-party operator.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said its indirect subsidiary, Mines Wellness Hotel Bhd (MWHB), which owns the resort, received a notice for early termination from Tamara Concierge Sdn Bhd on Feb 25, 2026.

“Following the receipt of the termination notice, MWHB and the group had undertaken the necessary measures to ensure continuity of the operations of Mines Beach Resort and will assume direct management and operation of Mines Beach Resort, with effect from May 1, 2026,” Country Heights said.

The company noted that prior to the termination, it had given the operator opportunities to rectify breaches and demonstrate its financial capability to continue under the agreement.

However, the operator had failed to do so and proceeded with the early termination.

“MWHB is currently evaluating and reserves its rights to pursue legal recourse in respect of the unfulfilled term of the management agreement, which includes claims relating to management fees, revenue sharing, liabilities and damages arising therefrom,” it said.

The board has also conducted a preliminary assessment of the operational and financial impact and is implementing transition measures to ensure business continuity.
