BAssets disposes of stake in BCorp for RM7mil


PETALING JAYA: Berjaya Assets Bhd’s (BAssets) wholly-owned subsidiary, Berjaya Bright Sdn Bhd, had on Aug 29, 2025 and April 29, 2026 disposed a total of 25.339 million ordinary shares (or a 0.43% stake) in Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp) via direct business transactions for RM6.86mil.

Following the disposals, BAssets and its subsidiaries now hold a total of about 142.31 million BCorp shares, representing about 2.39% equity interest in BCorp.

“The cash considerations for the disposals were arrived at after taking into consideration the prevailing market prices of the BCorp shares at the time of the disposals,” it said in a Bursa Malaysia filing.

BAssets said the BCorp shares were disposed of free and clear of all liens, charges and claims of any kind or restriction.

“The cash proceeds from the disposals will be utilised for working capital. The disposals enabled the BAssets Group to realise part of its investment in BCorp.”

BCorp is a major shareholder of BAssets. Tan Sri Vincent Tan Chee Yioun is a major shareholder of BAssets and BCorp.
