KUALA LUMPUR: Offshore marine support services, Marine & General Bhd
(M&G) has appointed Abdul Hafidz Abdul Rahman as chief executive officer (CEO) of its subsidiary, Jasa Merin (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (JMM), effective May 1, 2026.
In a statement today, the company said Abdul Hafidz succeeds Mohd Noor Ismardi Idris, who will be retiring following the completion of the current financial year, in line with M&G’s structured leadership succession plan.
"This appointment marks the culmination of a multi-year succession planning initiative approved by the board in 2022, designed to ensure leadership continuity and long-term operational stability across the group’s upstream and downstream divisions.
"Under the new structure, Abdul Hafidz will assume overall responsibility for JMM and continue to oversee both divisions, supported by a strengthened operational leadership team,” it said.
Abdul Hafidz joined M&G in 2018 and has held several key leadership positions since 2022, including chief operating officer (COO) of JMM’s downstream division and JMM’s deputy CEO.
To complement and support the new CEO, M&G also announced the appointment of Ahmad Khairuddin Abdullah as COO of JMM’s upstream division, and Badzanishah Shahrom as COO of Jasa Merin (Labuan) Plc.
"Together, this leadership team represents a cohort of experienced executives who have been systematically developed within M&G over the past several years and are well-positioned to drive operational excellence and strategic continuity over the longer term,” said M&G.
Meanwhile, M&G executive chairman Tan Sri Mohd Azlan Hashim said the leadership transition reflects the strength of M&G’s succession planning framework and its commitment to developing internal talent.
"We are confident that this team will build on the strong foundation established by Mohd Noor Ismardi, whose leadership and contributions over the years have been instrumental to the group’s growth.
"This transition positions the group for sustained leadership stability over the next decade, reinforcing our long-term strategic direction,” he added. - Bernama
