Trading in Sunway, IJM shares suspended pending anouncement

KUALA LUMPUR: Sunway Bhd and IJM Corp Bhd announced in separate filings with Bursa Malaysia that trading in their respective shares had been suspended from 9am on Monday.

Both companies said their respective suspensions were pending a material announcement.

Trading in the structured warrants relating to Sunway and IJM will also be suspended at the same time.

In November 2025, IJM quashed market talk it had been approached for a potential merger with Sunway, following media reports the two property and construction giants had been engaged in confidential discussions.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, IJM said its board “is not aware of any such proposal and has not been approached regarding a potential merger”.

Similarly, Sunway, in a separate filing, clarified that there have been no engagements or negotiations with IJM Corp.

Shares in Sunway were last traded at RM5.60 apiece last Friday while IJM's shares ended at RM2.75 each.
