KUALA LUMPUR: Yayasan Peneraju (YP), an agency under the Ministry of Economy, has concluded its 2026 ‘Jom Explore! Why Not YP?’ programme, reaching more than 2,000 Bumiputera SPM leavers nationwide, including new outreach in Kuching and Kota Kinabalu.

In a statement, YP said the initiative offers a faster, fully funded pathway to globally recognised qualifications such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

Chief executive officer Ibrahim Sani said the programme aligns with YP’s mission to nurture high-potential Bumiputera individuals into value creators who can contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s economic growth.

“Professional qualifications in accounting and business services are among the most effective pathways to achieve this, not only for the individual, but also for their families and Malaysia’s broader economic future,” he said.

“Through ‘Jom Explore! Why Not YP?’, we have been able to reach Bumiputera youth nationwide at an important point in their educational journey, particularly as many had just received their SPM results.

“The programme was designed to provide a clear and well-supported pathway that can help school leavers progress towards becoming chartered accountants faster than through the conventional route,” he added.

Successful applicants may receive up to RM150,000 covering tuition, exams, study materials and a monthly allowance.

Graduates can achieve affiliate status by age 21, with starting salaries around RM4,000 and potential earnings exceeding RM8,000 within three years.

YP has supported over 9,000 Bumiputera talents to date and aims to produce 5,000 chartered accountants annually by 2030.
