Paragon Globe makes Johor its key earnings driver

PETALING JAYA: Paragon Globe Bhd (PGB) is doubling down on Johor as a key earnings driver, as the state continues to attract manufacturing and logistics investments supported by regional supply chain realignment and the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.

The group said it is looking ahead to 2026 “with confidence”, supported by solid earnings performance in the first half of the financial year 2026 (1H26) and a development pipeline positioned to benefit from Johor’s expanding industrial and urban markets.

“Johor continues to benefit from structural growth drivers and our focus remains on disciplined development, prudent cost management and delivering projects that generate sustainable value over the medium term,” PGB executive chairman Datuk Seri Edwin Tan Pei Seng said in a statement yesterday.

For the six months ended Sept 30, 2025 (6M26), PGB recorded revenue of RM108.11mil, representing a 28.6% year-on-year (y-o-y) increase, while net profit rose 102% y-o-y to RM29.94mil.

The improved performance was driven primarily by the recognition of land sales in Desa Cemerlang, alongside continued industrial property sales including detached factories and shop offices in Pekan Nanas.

“Our 6M26 results reflect steady execution across our industrial developments, supported by favourable demand conditions in Johor,” Tan said.

“The improvement in earnings provides a solid base as we move into 2026.”

The group said its industrial developments in Desa Cemerlang and Pekan Nanas are located within “established industrial corridors and continue to attract interest from both multinational and domestic companies”.

“These projects remain a key earnings contributor for the group, providing near-term visibility while allowing PGB to optimise its landbank,” it said.

At the same time, PGB has begun to broaden its development profile.

Last year, the group introduced Calia Residences by PGB, its first high-rise residential project located in Danga Bay, Johor Baru, marking PGB’s entry into the urban residential segment.

“While Calia Residences by PGB has yet to contribute to earnings, it represents a strategic expansion aimed at capturing medium-term residential demand in Johor Baru’s waterfront and city-fringe areas,” the company added.

Looking ahead, PGB is also progressing plans for Kensington Parkview by PGB in Iskandar Puteri, a mixed-use development incorporating residential and commercial components, as well as The Iconic by PGB in Johor Baru city centre.

PGB said these projects are expected to enhance its longer-term revenue visibility, complementing its established industrial portfolio.

The group noted it remains focused on executing its projects prudently, balancing near-term earnings with longer-term development, and positioning itself to benefit from Johor’s continued economic expansion as it moves into 2026.
