PETALING JAYA: IJM Corp Bhd
's wholly-owned subsidiary, IJM Construction Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a RM873.9mil contract by Pearl Computing Malaysia Sdn Bhd for mechanical and electrical (M&E) fit-out works for a hyperscale data centre at Elmina Business Park, Selangor.
“Following the earlier core and shell package, this award marks a significant scale-up in IJM’s data-centre portfolio, underscoring market confidence in our delivery capability, execution strength and ability to manage large-format digital infrastructure," IJM Corp group CEO and managing director Datuk Lee Chun Fai said in a statement.
The M&E scope covers the supply and installation of mechanical, electrical, security and telecommunication systems, together with the coordination, commissioning and integration of all related systems and owner-furnished equipment. Work is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026 and is targeted for completion in the first quarter of 2028.
IJM noted that this latest award follows IJM Corp’s announcement on Oct 23 of RM1.26bil for the core and shell package awarded by a subsidiary of Sime Darby Property Sdn Bhd, both contracts forming part of the same hyperscale data-centre development within Elmina Business Park.
Together, the two contracts bring the total value of the project to RM2.135bil. The awards increased IJM Construction’s total outstanding order book to RM15.2bil, its highest to date.
In Malaysia, IJM Corp's domestic construction order book stands at about RM9.3bil with fast-track industrial buildings such as data centres, electrical & electronic facilities and logistics hubs now accounting for about 55% of the total, the fastest-growing segment in the group's portfolio.
