UEM Sunrise names Shaharul Farez as new MD/CEO


KUALA LUMPUR: UEM Sunrise Bhd has appointed Shaharul Farez Hassan, 55, as its new managing director and chief executive officer (MD/CEO) effective Nov 17, 2025.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, UEM Sunrise said Shaharul has 30 years of extensive experience in corporate leadership, financial management, strategic planning and operations management across the real estate, hospitality, automotive and infrastructure sectors.

He holds a Master of Business Administration from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Accounting from the University of Bristol.

Following his appointment, Hafizuddin Sulaiman will resume his role as chief financial officer and cease as officer-in-charge effective the same date.
