Citi rolls out generative AI in Malaysia to boost productivity and innovation


KUALA LUMPUR: Citi has expanded the rollout of its generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools to employees in Malaysia, aiming to boost productivity, foster innovation, and strengthen its leadership in digital banking.

In a statement, the group said Citi is actively incorporating AI as a core part of its strategy to become a leading bank in the digital era.

“By equipping its workforce with these advanced AI capabilities, Citi aims to empower employees to make faster, data-driven decisions, automate repetitive tasks, and significantly boost overall productivity and efficiency,” the bank said.

Citi Malaysia CEO Vikram Singh said the rollout of generative AI tools represents an investment in employees, enabling greater efficiency, innovation, and focus on strategic client initiatives.

“Empowering our workforce with these advanced capabilities reinforces Citi's commitment to leveraging technology for a competitive edge and underscores Malaysia’s vital role in our regional digital transformation journey,” he said.

Citi Malaysia recently marked its 65th anniversary, solidifying its position as a leading foreign bank since 1959. With nearly 4,000 employees, it operates a full-service franchise covering corporate and commercial banking, treasury and trade, markets and investor services, and transaction services through its Citi Solutions Centres.
