KUALA LUMPUR: AuMAS Resources Bhd has announced a maiden mineral resource estimate (MRE) of 110,000 ounces of contained gold at its Andrassy gold project in Sabah.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the gold miner said the estimate covers the Bukit Jantung and Bukit Ketupat prospects within Block 1 of the project and was prepared in accordance with the Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves (JORC Code).
AuMAS said the MRE for Andrassy Block 1, comprising the Bukit Jantung and Bukit Ketupat prospects, stood at 3.59 million tonnes grading 0.95 grammes per tonne (g/t) of gold at a cut-off grade of 0.30 g/t, containing an estimated 110,000 ounces of gold.
Bukit Jantung accounts for 45,500 ounces of contained gold in 2.03 million tonnes grading 0.70 g/t, comprising both indicated and inferred resources.
Bukit Ketupat has an inferred resource of 64,500 ounces of contained gold in 1.56 million tonnes grading 1.28 g/t.
AuMAS said the estimate was based on exploration conducted between 2024 and 2026, including geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys, trenching and drilling.
A total of 51 reverse-circulation and diamond drill holes covering 3,483.8 metres were completed at Block 1 as at Aug 12, 2026.
The Andrassy prospecting licence covers about 18,000 hectares in the Tawau Division of southeastern Sabah, about 15km to 25km northwest of Tawau.
AuMAS said the area covered by the maiden resource represents only a small proportion of the overall licence area, with potential extensions to the existing mineralisation along strike and down dip.
Exploration has also identified several geochemical anomalies or targets in Blocks 2, 3 and 4, which the company said could potentially delineate additional resources with further work.
The prospecting licence, held by Aurelius Borneo Mining Sdn Bhd, has been renewed for another year and is valid until July 12, 2027.
AuMAS undertakes the project through its wholly-owned subsidiary Wullersdorf Resources Sdn Bhd under an exclusive prospecting and contract of work agreement with Aurelius.
AuMAS cautioned that no ore reserves have been declared at Andrassy and there is no certainty that further exploration will result in inferred resources being upgraded or the reported mineral resources being converted into ore reserves.
