SC Estate Builder, Vanguard North ink JV deal for RM663mil GDV Kubang Pasu housing project

KUALA LUMPUR: SC Estate Builder Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SC Estate Energy Sdn Bhd, has entered into a joint venture agreement (JV agreement) with Vanguard North Sdn Bhd to develop four parcels of land in Kubang Pasu, Kedah, that have a combined gross development value (GDV) of RM663.36 million.

The construction company said in a stock exchange filing that the 24.85-hectare development will comprise "subdivided land, units and building types.” It stated that the project is expected to commence in the second quarter of 2026 and be completed by the second quarter of 2030.

SC Estate Builder said it aims to construct 2,000 to 3,000 affordable housing units equipped with rooftop solar panels, two-metre-wide social distancing walkways, bicycle lanes, and internet connectivity.

It said the development is also aligned with the Malaysian government’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), which aims to increase the share of installed renewable energy capacity from 40 per cent in 2040 to 70 per cent by 2050, driven mainly by solar photovoltaic (PV) expansion. - Bernama
