KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) has reinforced its pivotal role in advancing Malaysia’s bid to be ASEAN’s hub for innovation, sustainability and advanced industries by linking businesses with investors via its Investment Pitching Day 2025.

The initiative has successfully convened over 180 senior investors and decision makers, creating a dynamic showcase that bridges capital with investment-ready projects.

Chief executive officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid emphasised the critical need for public-private collaboration in propelling Malaysia into the next phase of economic growth.

"This platform is designed to connect companies with the right investors, ensuring that great projects get the full support they need to scale up.

"The MADANI Economy Framework and the New Industrial Master Plan 2030 are our guiding principles for building an inclusive, equitable and competitive economy,” he said in a statement.

MIDA said the Investment Pitching Day 2025, held on Sept 2, brought together institutional investors, government-linked investment companies, venture capital firms, private equity funds, financial institutions and developers, underscoring MIDA’s key role in unlocking strategic investments, strengthening local ecosystems, and advancing regional connectivity.

The morning session focused on the economic accelerator projects (EAP) along the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) corridor, with investment-ready ventures from Kelantan, Terengganu, Pahang and Selangor.

It said these projects are poised to catalyse regional development and deliver long-term impact for local communities.

In the afternoon, the inaugural PrimePitch session showcased five companies, namely, Jardin Pharma, Biocon Biologics, Novugen Oncology, Longe Medikal and Remedi Innovations, representing high-value opportunities in the pharmaceuticals and medical devices. - Bernama
