XOX appoints Mohd Effendi Mat Aris as CEO

PETALING JAYA: XOX Technology Bhd has appointed 38-year-old Mohd Effendi Mat Aris as its new chief executive officer with immediate effect, succeeding Azril Aliuddin who stepped down in May last year "due to other work commitments."

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, XOX said Mohd Effendi brings over 20 years of experience across the public, private, and non-governmental sectors.

According to the filing, Mohd Effendi was most recently the deputy head of the intelligence section at the National Anti-Financial Crime Centre (NFCC) under the Prime Minister’s Department, where he coordinated intelligence operations and inter-agency enforcement under Malaysia’s anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism framework.

On July 25, Mohd Effendi was also appointed as an independent non-executive director of Heitech Padu Bhd.
