KUALA LUMPUR: Marriott International Inc has signed an agreement with TSM Global Bhd to convert the 393-room Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur into the Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel.

The hotel, located between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya, will join the Marriott Hotels brand in December 2025 after phased renovations.

“We are pleased to collaborate with TSM Global on this strategic conversion project that will introduce the trusted Marriott Hotels brand to the dynamic commercial corridor of Petaling Jaya,” Marriott International Vice President of Hotel Development – Asia Pacific (excluding China), Andree Susilo said in a statement.

“The conversion-friendly platform of our flagship brand continues to resonate with owners and investors, and this agreement reflects our shared confidence in the future of Malaysia’s hospitality landscape.”

The hotel, opened in 1998, will undergo phased renovations beginning with a lobby overhaul and guest room redesign to align with Marriott’s modern standards. New features include an M Club Lounge for Elite and Club members, a Chinese restaurant, and a Kids Club.

The fully renovated hotel is scheduled to open by December 2026.

Once rebranded, Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel will offer upgraded rooms, branded service, and easy access to business and leisure destinations.

Meanwhile, TSM Global director Lim Tze Thean said: “We are excited to collaborate with Marriott International and introduce the Marriott Hotels brand to this strategic location.”

“This signing represents our commitment to elevating hospitality standards in Malaysia, and we look forward to creating a compelling destination that delivers quality, consistency, and global recognition,” Lim said.
