THE RON95 petrol subsidy rationalisation is approaching, and higher oil prices could make implementation more challenging. This is especially true given other policy uncertainties, such as fluctuating tariffs in global trade.
The move coincides with the government’s efforts to reduce spending and increase revenue. This includes expanding the sales and service tax starting July 1, and proposing higher electricity tariffs for Peninsular Malaysia.
