Feytech expands in Malaysia with new automotive seat plant

KUALA LUMPUR: Feytech Holdings Bhd has secured a new plant location in the central region of Malaysia for its automotive seat manufacturing operations.

In a statement, the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of automotive seats, seat covers, interior trims, and parts announced they have signed a tenancy agreement, with production set to start in the third quarter of 2025 and an estimated annual capacity of 36,000 seat sets.

This new facility will be Feytech’s second seat manufacturing plant in Malaysia, complementing its Kulim operations. The group also operates an interior cover manufacturing plant in Johor, enhancing its integrated automotive component capabilities.

The plant will support Feytech’s collaboration with Rui Tai Group to produce localised seat systems for Chery vehicles assembled in Malaysia.

“We currently supply components to automakers from Japan, Korea, Europe, and national brands. We are excited to now include a leading Chinese marque in our customer base.

“Our collaboration with Rui Tai Group will enhance our technical capabilities and is expected to contribute positively to Group revenue as volumes scale. This expansion aligns with our long-term vision of becoming a key regional supplier of automotive parts across Southeast Asia,” Feytech chief executive officer Connie Go said.
