KUALA LUMPUR: MN Holdings Bhd via its wholly-owned subsidiary Mutu Nusantara Sdn Bhd has bagged a RM162.69mil contract for a hyperscale data centre in the Southern region of Malaysia.

In a statement, the group said its customer, whose name it did not disclose, is principally engaged in providing infrastructure for hosting, data processing services and related activities, wholesale of a variety of goods without any particular specialisation, and computer facilities management activities.

The scope of work under the contract comprises design, build and construction of a high voltage Main Switching Station (SSU) and Consumer Containerised SSU for a data centre.

MN Holdings said the contract shall commence immediately and targeted for completion by July 2025.

“Malaysia has experienced a phenomenal surge in data centre development. In just two years, the state’s capacity has skyrocketed from 10MW to over 1,000MW, making it a regional powerhouse.

"This boom presents several exciting prospects for MN Holdings. We will continue to leverage on our deep experience in the underground utilities and substation engineering segment to secure more projects from the data centre segment moving forward," said executive director Datuk Loy Siong Hay.

Including the latest contract win, MN Holdings has increased its order book to about RM763.7mil, providing strong earnings visibility to the group for the next two years.

The contract is expected to contribute positively to the revenue, earnings and earnings per share of the company for the financial years ending June 30, 2025, and 2026, said Loy.
