ON Nov 16, a blockbuster auction in France ended with the sound of the hammer coming down for the last time. Normally, the interest is in antiques, collectibles and art. This time, however, a 21m long, 78m high Apatosaurus (formerly known as a Brontosaurus) skeleton stole the show.

Vulcain, as it is nicknamed, is regarded as the most complete dinosaur skeleton ever found and auctioned.
